Lesca Pica, Posh and Corbs: the differences

A crown, a rectangle, a circle.

Pica, Posh and Corbs share Lesca’s taste for substantial acetate. Then they take three different directions: the Pica looks to Picasso, the Posh extends the line, and the Corbs pays tribute to Le Corbusier’s glasses. Start by considering which design you want to wear.

Pica

The Pica starts with a rounded lens and draws a crown around it. The upper rim becomes more angular, while the bevels bring out the corners of the acetate. Its distinctive quality lies in the meeting of the curved lens and the sharply defined front.

In 053, the tortoiseshell warms that geometry: amber and brown areas reveal the thickness differently from a uniform black.

It is a shape to try if you like compact lenses and a clearly defined upper rim. The reference to Picasso and the French roots of the crown panto are explored in the Pica story.

Rectangular

Posh

The Posh gives the rectangle soft corners. The acetate remains thick, but the line runs horizontally: compared with the Pica, the front looks more elongated. In Black, the glossy finish makes that direction particularly clear.

Look at it alongside your eyebrows and at the edges of your face. This is where you can judge how the width of the rectangle works with your proportions.

Small and Medium share the same design and offer two sizes to compare. The choice concerns both room at the temples and the effect you want: a more compact frame or one that takes up more space on your face.

Round

Corbs

Le Corbusier’s round glasses were part of an unmistakable image. The Corbs draws on that inspiration, surrounding each lens with a substantial acetate rim. The reference to the architect is clear in the relationship between the circle and the thickness of the frame.

In Noir, black gives the curve continuity and makes the outline particularly crisp. Of these three models, this is the starting point if you want a round shape with a strong presence on the face.

There is a connection to cinema too: Lesca identifies the Corbs as the model worn by Al Pacino in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in… Hollywood.

Three shapes to try in the mirror

Compare their geometry first: the Pica’s crown, the Posh’s horizontal line and the Corbs’s circle. Then consider colour. Here, the Pica’s tortoiseshell and the black of the other two contribute to the differences you see in the photographs.

When trying them on, look in a full-length mirror too, wearing your usual clothes. A frame becomes part of how you dress and move: the choice becomes clearer when you see it in that wider picture.

Compare measurements and sizes

Lens width measures one lens, rather than the whole front. To compare fit, also consider the thickness of the rim and how the bridge rests on your nose. Measurements help you narrow the choice; trying a frame on lets you assess stability and room at the temples.
