Paloceras. The Pebble Collection
From Double Black to pistachio green and the numbered Crystal Secrets editions: eight Paloceras frames, with OCCHIO’s advice on choosing yours.

5 minute read
Pistachio green with a white shirt. Glossy black with your favourite jeans. Transparent honey with a butter-coloured knit. A Paloceras frame can be the piece you get dressed around, even when everything else is simple. That is what draws us to Pebble: a shape you recognise and colours that invite you to try something different. Here are eight frames from the OCCHIO selection, including two numbered Crystal Secrets editions.

Craftsmanship
A pebble becomes a frame
A pebble smoothed by water: this is where Pebble begins. Paloceras brings that roundness to eyewear through sculpted edges and softened corners. There is something familiar about these shapes, even in pistachio green or transparent purple.
To achieve that volume, Mazzucchelli cellulose acetate is shaped with heat and polished by hand. Look closely at the edges: light follows their curves and reveals the smooth finish. The workmanship is especially apparent where the frame looks softest.
For us, the detail to look at is where the front meets the temples. Look at Pistachio Green in profile: the roundness continues through the whole frame. That attention to detail is what makes us choose Pebble for OCCHIO.
The silhouettes
Which shape to start with
Our advice is to start with the two Double Black frames: the colour stays the same, so you can focus on the difference between oval and square. If you are drawn to upswept corners, go straight to the cat-eye. RX, SX and DX identify these three shapes.
RX · Oval
The oval is our starting point for anyone who loves a retro reference. Double Black emphasises the outline; Crystal Honey lets you see through the acetate.
SX · Angular
The square has corners softened by the shaping of the acetate. Compare it in black and Pistachio Green: the same geometry, two very different ways to stand out.
DX · Cat-eye
Upswept corners give the cat-eye a theatrical accent. Shadow Black emphasises the outline; Crystal Toffee adds the contrast of caramel and blue.
The OCCHIO selection
From black to pistachio green
Think about what you wear most often. Black lets the shape take the lead; Pistachio Green brings a solid block of colour; Crystal Blue and Laguna Purple play with transparency and contrasting lenses.

Double Black
RX · Oval
The Paloceras to start with if black is already your colour. The oval has a retro feel, while the full edges give it a bolder presence. With a white T-shirt or a roll-neck, this glossy acetate frame is enough to complete the outfit.

Crystal Blue
RX · Oval
A crystal-blue frame with dark red lenses: contrast is the reason to choose this one. We picture it with denim or an all-black outfit, letting the glasses bring the colour. You will find it at OCCHIO as Crystal Blue RX; Paloceras calls it Ice Blue RX.

Double Black
SX · Angular
The most useful comparison with Double Black RX: the same glossy black, a square front and rounded corners. Look at them side by side. If the oval appeals for its retro feel, this more geometric outline might be your preference, especially with a sharply tailored jacket.

Pistachio Green
SX · Angular
The first one we suggest if you want to venture beyond black. Pistachio green works with white, denim and beige; brown gradient lenses complete the palette. Keep the clothes simple: you have already chosen your colour accent.

Laguna Purple
SX · Angular
Purple and pink acetate, green gradient lenses. Laguna Purple is our choice for anyone who enjoys combining colours and wants a transparent frame. A pale blue shirt or a lavender knit gives you two places to start.

Shadow Black
DX · Cat-eye
For anyone whose first choice in eyewear is a cat-eye. Shadow Black emphasises its upswept corners in glossy black acetate. We picture it with hair tied back and a simple outfit, giving the outline of the frame room to stand out.

Crystal Secrets
With Crystal Secrets, part of the pleasure is discovering what is inside. DualLayer™ construction joins two layers of Mazzucchelli acetate; transparent areas reveal the gold-plated metal components. In Crystal Honey, the honey colour frames a structure that usually stays hidden.
We have paired Honey and Toffee for two reasons: the move from oval to cat-eye, and the choice between warm honey tones and the contrast of caramel and blue.
Honey, Amber and Toffee are produced in 100 numbered pieces per model. If you collect eyewear, the number identifies your piece within the series. If this is your first Paloceras, you can simply start with the colour that made you pause on the page.

Honey and Toffee, two distinct characters

Crystal Honey
RX · Limited edition
For lovers of warm tones: honey-coloured acetate, yellow gradient lenses, an oval shape. We would pair it with linen, butter-coloured knits and tan leather accessories. Through the acetate, you can see the gold-plated metal details.

Crystal Toffee
DX · Limited edition
Caramel acetate meets blue gradient lenses: warm and cool in the same frame. The cat-eye, with its upswept corners, brings the contrast into focus. Put it beside Honey if you want a numbered edition with a more theatrical shape.
