Craftsmanship
Acetate, heat and hand polishing
Introduced in 2024, Pebble is made from Mazzucchelli cellulose acetate. The material is heat-moulded and polished by hand to create the domed surfaces that distinguish the collection.
The reference to a smooth stone is evident in the edges: broad curves continue from the front to the temples. A side view makes this transition particularly clear. The frame has a visible thickness, yet its surface remains continuous and rounded.
Black, solid colours and transparent acetates highlight different aspects of the same construction. Black defines the outline; lighter colours reveal changes in thickness; transparency adds depth. In Pebble, choosing a finish also changes how the shape is perceived.
The silhouettes
RX, SX and DX: what changes
The three codes identify the fronts in the OCCHIO selection. They share Pebble’s rounded rim, while changing the lens outline and the direction of the lines.
RX · Oval
The oval shape concentrates volume around the lenses and keeps the upper front compact. Double Black RX, Crystal Blue and Crystal Honey share this shape, with colour and transparency creating very different effects.
SX · Angular
A more horizontal upper line and softened corners give the front an angular geometry. Double Black SX, Pistachio Green and Laguna Purple allow it to be compared in black, a solid colour and transparent acetate.
DX · Cat-eye
The front extends towards the temples and rises at the outer corners. Shadow Black and Crystal Toffee show two characters of the same cat-eye: black defines the silhouette, while tortoiseshell brings out variations in tone and thickness.

Double Black pairs oval and angular shapes in the same finish. Four more versions explore transparency, colour and the upswept cat-eye profile.

Glossy black brings out the domed rim around the oval lenses. The bridge follows the same curve, creating a compact, continuous front. From the side, the volume continues into the temples. The uniform finish lets the curve be followed without a change of colour.

Transparent blue acetate and pink gradient lenses. The colour deepens along the thicker edges, emphasising the volume of the oval front. Transparency reveals the material’s depth, especially near the bridge and outer edges, where the acetate is thicker.

The angular version of Double Black has a more horizontal upper line and softened corners. Grey gradient lenses complete the glossy black front. Beside the RX version, the comparison is immediate: the colour stays the same while the front takes a more horizontal direction.

Pistachio Green
SX · Angular
Pistachio green with warm-toned lenses. Softened corners temper the angular shape, while the broad temples echo the curves of the front. The solid colour makes each curve easy to see. A side view also reveals the continuity between temples and lens rims.

Laguna Purple

Pink and lilac tones in transparent acetate are paired with green gradient lenses. Dark outer edges mark the point where the front meets the temples. It is one of the gentler combinations in the selection: transparency preserves Pebble’s volume while giving its outline a softer presence.

A glossy black cat-eye with upswept corners and violet-toned gradient lenses. The elongated front retains Pebble’s characteristic rounded rims. A three-quarter view reveals how the upper rim changes in thickness as it rises towards the corners.

Limited editions
Crystal Secrets
Honey, Amber and Toffee are the three Crystal Secrets versions, each produced in 100 numbered pieces. DualLayer™ construction combines two sheets of Mazzucchelli acetate: the transparent inner layer reveals the gold-plated metal components.
Tortoiseshell brings a familiar pattern to Pebble’s proportions. Honey and caramel tones alternate with transparent areas, so the surface changes with the light and the thickness of the material.
At OCCHIO, the selection includes Crystal Honey RX and Crystal Toffee DX. The three-quarter view shows the transition between the outer and inner sides of the frame, making it the most useful angle for examining the layered construction.
