AKONI Crafted Cosmo. Thirty hours to shape horn
Thirty hours of work, and natural markings that change with every frame. Crafted Cosmo is the AKONI to choose when the material matters as much as the shape.

Before you put them on, someone has spent thirty hours making them. That is the time AKONI gives for crafting Cosmo in water buffalo horn. Then comes your moment: you pick up the frame, follow a pale streak across the front and understand why this material deserves such attention.
The shape belongs to Cosmo. The pattern running through it belongs to the horn: pale streaks, dark areas, irregular transitions. Together, they give an already distinctive frame something that cannot be repeated exactly.

01 / The material
The material has already chosen the colour
In Crafted Cosmo’s black horn with white streaks, the grain crosses the bridge and continues along the temples. Follow it like the lines on a small map: gathering, opening out, taking a different direction from the rim.
This is the most individual part of choosing horn. Each frame retains its own shades and markings. The photographs show the catalogue version; the natural pattern will vary in the frame you receive.

02 / The time
Now look at the hands
In the workshop photographs, Cosmo is still unfinished. You can make out the rough front, separate temples and surfaces being worked. The frame you will wear passes through these stages.
Carving, shaping, finishing: AKONI devotes around thirty hours to this work for each frame. The edge your fingers will follow and the transition from front to temples take shape along the way.
It changes the simple act of opening a case. Inside is an object someone has spent a long time with. Its details let you discover that work again, every day.

03 / The shape
Picture Cosmo on you
The Wellington shape has a broad front, a strong upper line and softened corners. These optical glasses have presence even with a simple shirt: black gives definition around the eyes, while the pale streaks soften its severity.
The three-quarter view reveals the horn’s thickness and the metal details. Picture the frame on your desk, then on your face. It has enough presence to become the piece you build the rest around.
The OCCHIO version measures 52–22–147 mm: lens, bridge and temples. Use the size guide to compare these with your glasses, taking the shape of the front into account too.
