JUNK PLASTIC REHAB

Junk Plastic Rehab glasses grew out of a project started in 2019 around one material: ECONYL®, Aquafil's regenerated nylon, made from fishing nets, fabric scraps and industrial plastic waste. Working out the formula and the production process took two years.

The brand designs and produces in Italy, in the eyewear district, with its base in Lozzo di Cadore, in the province of Belluno. Besides ECONYL® it uses 100% recycled acetate on other models and 925 sterling silver details: on the models we carry, the left temple bears the "j" logo in real silver.

At OCCHIO! the selection is sunglasses. Jinx, in Marshmallow and Yolk, has oval lenses and "meltdown" temples that look to the 1990s. June, in Beam, Neon Beam, Marshmallow and Lava Flare, takes up the wraparound shape of the early 2000s. Jello, in Crystal Ball, draws on late-1970s style. All frames can take prescription lenses, so each model can also be worn as prescription sunglasses; each product page shows photos and measurements.

Junk Plastic Rehab sunglasses are available online and in the OCCHIO! boutique in Crema.
