About this frame
The VILLETTE model with 100% UV-resistant lenses is handmade in FRANCE by expert craftsmen. The glasses are made of CELLULOSE ACETATE and are suitable for prescription lenses. The frame comes with a case and lens cleaning cloth.
When it comes to eyewear, not all frames are created equal. AHLEM is committed to quality craftsmanship, above all else. This means avoiding the easy in favor of excellence. The utmost respect for craftsmanship is shown in every pair of glasses. Throughout the production process, the glasses travel through three specialized ateliers and into the hands of nine skilled craftsmen, resulting in technically perfect glasses.
AHLEM was founded in 2014 by Ahlem Manai-Platt, a Parisian designer based in Los Angeles. Her French roots and her engagement with art and culture inform the brand’s work.
Bauhaus design is a central reference, with proportion, function and attention to detail shaping each frame. Material choices and the study of finishes give substance to this approach, in which even the smallest elements have a considered role.
