Women’s glasses 2026: the 5 trends that count and 8 designer frames

Women’s glasses in 2026 don’t hide. They get chosen.

For years a woman’s frame had to be “light”, “discreet”, “invisible”. This year the women who walk into the boutique ask for the opposite: a shape you recognise, a colour you commit to, a material you can feel. Five directions read in orders and fittings, not on a runway, and eight frames available now at OCCHIO!.

1964

the year Lesca started making glasses in France: today’s shapes are sixty years old

1. The cat-eye, but soft

The cat-eye is back, and it isn’t the pointed 1950s one. The outer corners rise by a few millimetres, the lower line stays round, and the result lifts the gaze without drawing a stage mask. It suits a round or oval face and anyone who wants glasses that get noticed without explanation. AHLEM draws it in Paris in its most wearable version, thick acetate and corners only hinted at; Kuboraum pushes it into the full, sculpted version of the mask.

AHLEM Gambetta Light Turtle

Cat-eye · 8 mm acetate · handmade in France · €495

AHLEM Gambetta Light Turtle

AHLEM’s Gambetta in Light Turtle: 52 mm lens, corners that barely rise, a front cut from 8 mm Italian acetate. The Parisian cat-eye, designed to be worn every day and not only in the evening.

2. Transparencies and solid colour

Black stays, but next to black come crystal, honey, blue and burgundy. Not timid pastels: dense, hand-polished acetates that change with the light. The rule is one decisive colour, never gradients. It’s the direction that works better than expected even on women who have always chosen black: a transparent frame lightens the face, a coloured one lights it up. Kuboraum does it with the dark transparent acetates of its masks, AHLEM with solid burgundy: two routes, the same idea.

Kuboraum P26 Transparent Brown

Transparency · transparent brown acetate · Berlin, handmade in Italy · €540

Kuboraum P26 Transparent Brown

Kuboraum’s P26 in transparent brown: 50 mm lens, a geometric front with high corners, an acetate that reads dark from afar and up close lets through the light and the tortoise temples. Transparency in a shape that doesn’t ask permission.

3. Warm, thin metal

The feminine metal of 2026 isn’t the shiny steel of the 2000s. It’s gold, rose gold, champagne, in brushed finishes that don’t reflect. One-millimetre rims, double bridges, thin temples: the frame for anyone who wears glasses ten hours a day and wants them seen only up close. AHLEM and KameManNen both work here: one with palladium and 22-carat gold plating, the other with Sabae titanium.

AHLEM Harpe Peony Gold

Metal cat-eye · palladium and 22k gold · handmade in France · €515

AHLEM Harpe Peony Gold

AHLEM’s Harpe in Peony Gold: the cat-eye taken into metal, 56 mm lens, steel plated in palladium and 22-carat gold, laser-engraved titanium nose pads. The shape that lifts the gaze and the metal that warms the skin, in one frame.

4. Small and round

The opposite of oversize, and growing: 40 to 45 mm lenses, round or oval shapes, narrow bridges. It’s the frame that suits a small face and delicate features, and that on a larger face becomes a deliberate detail. Lesca, AHLEM and Kuboraum each have a round shape under 46 mm in the collection, and they are among the first to sell out.

Lesca Lunetier Burt Miel

Small and round · honey acetate · handmade in France · €265

Lesca Lunetier Burt Miel

Lesca’s Burt in honey, 41 mm lens: round, small, a solid front with the three rivets set in a triangle. A reissue of a Joël Lesca design; the translucent acetate lets light through and warms the skin.

5. The numbered classic

The last direction isn’t a shape but a way of buying: numbered series, small productions, frames that won’t be made again. Sestini numbers every frame; T HENRI makes 199 per colour; Lesca and Kuboraum release limited editions that sell out in weeks. Whoever chooses this way isn’t after a trendy frame: she’s after a short-run frame with a story of its own.

Sestini Quattro Shiny Black

Numbered series · polished acetate · €480

Sestini Quattro Shiny Black

Sestini’s Quattro in polished black: 52 mm lens, square, with the serial number engraved on the temple. A classic that only reveals itself to whoever looks closely.

What isn’t coming back in 2026

The thin clear-plastic rectangle, the same for everyone, with spring hinges: the glasses “you don’t notice”. Not because they’re ugly, but because they say nothing. And the giant teardrop shapes of a few seasons ago, left as a quotation in a handful of archives. If you want a discreet frame, take it in warm metal or transparent acetate, with a shape that was thought through: discretion today is a material, not the absence of ideas.

The other three frames chosen

Before the trend comes the face

A trend that doesn’t suit the face is a pair of glasses left in a drawer. The face-shape guides say which direction to follow: round face, square face, long face, the general guide. On material: titanium or acetate. All together: women’s glasses, oval glasses, round glasses. For men there is the guide to men’s glasses trends 2026; for the sun, the women’s sunglasses trends 2026.

Which women’s glasses are on trend in 2026?

Five directions: a soft cat-eye with barely lifted corners, transparent acetate and solid colours (crystal, honey, blue, burgundy), warm metal in gold and brushed rose gold, small round shapes under 45 mm, numbered series and small productions. They all coexist: the choice depends on the face, not on fashion.

What colour glasses are in style for women in 2026?

Black remains the base. Alongside it: transparencies (crystal, blue, grey), honey and light tortoise, burgundy, and in metal brushed gold and rose gold. One decisive colour works; gradients and pale pastels are on the way out.

Which glasses shape suits a woman?

It depends on the face: the soft cat-eye and angular shapes suit a round face, round or oval shapes suit a square face, tall frames suit a long face. The panto (straight on top, round below) and the small oval are the shapes that suit the most women.

Are small glasses in fashion in 2026?

Yes. 40 to 45 mm lenses, round or oval shapes, narrow bridges: the opposite direction to oversize, growing for two seasons. They suit a small face or delicate features; on a larger face they become a deliberate detail.

How much do good women’s glasses cost?

Acetate handmade in France or Italy starts at €259 (Kuboraum Q8) and €265 (Lesca Burt); AHLEM’s acetate and metal and Kuboraum’s masks sit around €500 (Gambetta €495, P26 €540); in Japanese titanium and numbered series, the Sestini Quattro is €480 and the KameManNen 775P €700. Lenses are extra and depend on the prescription.
