Try glasses online, at a distance: worn photos, measurements and advice
We do not have a virtual try-on with your webcam, and we do not want one: on a designer frame the real proportions matter more than a simulation. So at OCCHIO! the distance try-on is done by two people, not an algorithm.
Pick a model on the site, write to us, and within a few hours you receive what you need to decide: the frame worn by someone with a face similar to yours, the real measurements compared with the glasses you wear today, and an honest opinion on lens size, bridge and colour. If it is not the right model, we say so and suggest two or three alternatives.
How the distance try-on works
- Choose one or more models among optical frames and sunglasses. Every product page lists lens width, bridge and temple length.
- Send us the measurements of the glasses you wear: they are printed inside the temple, in the form 52□18–145. If you cannot find them, a photo of the temple is enough.
- Receive worn photos and a size comparison: we photograph the frame on a person with a face width close to yours, front and profile, and point out where it differs from what you wear now.
- Decide at your own pace. Order online with tracked express shipping, or book an appointment in the boutique in Crema, Italy, and the frame will be waiting for you.
Why we do not use virtual try-on
Virtual fitting rooms lay a flat drawing over a video: they do not show the thickness of the acetate, the weight of the titanium, how the bridge sits on the nose or how far the front projects past the cheekbones. On a pair of Kuboraum or Lesca, sculpted frames, those details decide everything. Worn photographs and side-by-side measurements tell the truth better than a simulation.
What you receive
- Photographs of the frame worn, front and three-quarter, in natural light.
- The model's measurements next to those of your current glasses, including the total front width, which product pages usually leave out.
- An opinion on shape and colour against what you are looking for, and two or three alternatives if needed.
- Real availability: every model online is physically in the boutique, so what you see is what we have.
For prescription lenses
Optical frames ship with demonstration lenses, ready for your optician. If you come to Crema, the lenses are made in the boutique: measurement with Visionix EyeRefract, SEIKO single-vision and progressive lenses, fitting in our in-house workshop. Progressives need measurements taken in person, with the frame on your face.

How much does the distance try-on cost?
Nothing. It is how we sell glasses to people who cannot come to Crema.
How long does it take?
We usually reply the same day, during boutique hours: Tuesday to Saturday, 9.30–12.30 and 15.30–19.00 CET.
What if it does not suit me after I buy?
You can return the frame: return shipping is at your cost and the refund is issued when the parcel reaches the boutique. With photos and measurements before ordering, it rarely happens.
