About this frame
Klar is a pair of rectangular oversized sunglasses in red cellulose acetate by Lesca Lunetier, handmade in France, with lenses offering 100% UV protection. The model comes from the Lesca archives of the 1920s.
Joël Lesca created his first collection in 1964, in a workshop in the Secrétan district, in the 19th arrondissement of Paris. Lesca frames are riveted and shaped using traditional techniques.

In 1964, Joël Lesca introduced his first collection, created in a small workshop in the Secrétan neighbourhood of Paris’s nineteenth arrondissement. That workshop marked the beginning of a family history connected with the shapes and techniques of traditional eyewear making.
Over the years, Joël worked with artisans in France and other European countries. Shaping the frames and using rivets remained central to a production process guided by the skills and pace of the craft.
His sons Mathieu and Bertrand continue this work by returning to earlier collections. The LESCA archive provides a starting point for bringing historic shapes back into production and developing new interpretations while preserving the character of the original brand.
