About this frame
The AHLEM Kyoto x Globe Specs sunglasses are handmade in France from cellulose acetate. The lenses provide 100% UV protection. The frame is suitable for prescription lenses. A case and lens cleaning cloth are included.
Created to celebrate the opening of the Globe Specs store in Kyoto, this limited-edition frame combines acetate and metal. The finely hand-worked metal arc along the lower rim is electroplated in 22-carat gold.
AHLEM x GLOBE SPECS is engraved inside the temple. The model was made in a single limited production run of 200 pieces in three colours.
AHLEM places craftsmanship at the heart of every frame. Each pair passes through three specialist workshops and the hands of nine skilled artisans, with close attention to precision, construction and finishing.
AHLEM was founded in 2014 by Ahlem Manai-Platt, a Parisian designer based in Los Angeles. Her French roots and her engagement with art and culture inform the brand’s work.
Bauhaus design is a central reference, with proportion, function and attention to detail shaping each frame. Material choices and the study of finishes give substance to this approach, in which even the smallest elements have a considered role.
