Upcycling, also known as creative reuse, is the process of transforming by-products, waste materials, useless or unwanted products into new materials or products perceived as having higher quality, such as artistic or environmental value.
The ODETTE model with 100% UV-resistant lenses is handmade in FRANCE by expert craftsmen. The glasses are made of CELLULOSE ACETATE and are suitable for prescription lenses. The frame comes with a case and lens cleaning cloth.
In 1964, Joël Lesca introduced his first collection, created in a small workshop in the Secrétan neighbourhood of Paris’s nineteenth arrondissement. That workshop marked the beginning of a family history connected with the shapes and techniques of traditional eyewear making.
Over the years, Joël worked with artisans in France and other European countries. Shaping the frames and using rivets remained central to a production process guided by the skills and pace of the craft.
His sons Mathieu and Bertrand continue this work by returning to earlier collections. The LESCA archive provides a starting point for bringing historic shapes back into production and developing new interpretations while preserving the character of the original brand.
