About this frame
The Richelieu - Grey Gold model with clear demo lenses is handmade in Japan by expert craftspeople. The frame is made of titanium and can be fitted with prescription lenses. It comes with a case and a lens cleaning cloth.
When it comes to eyewear, not all frames are made the same way. AHLEM puts craftsmanship first, choosing the demanding route over the easy one, with deep respect for the artisan's skill in every pair. During production, each frame travels through three specialised workshops and passes through the hands of nine skilled artisans, resulting in technically precise eyewear.
AHLEM was founded in 2014 by Ahlem Manai-Platt, a Parisian designer based in Los Angeles. Her French roots and her engagement with art and culture inform the brand’s work.
Bauhaus design is a central reference, with proportion, function and attention to detail shaping each frame. Material choices and the study of finishes give substance to this approach, in which even the smallest elements have a considered role.
