About this frame
VAVA × Kengo Kuma CL0012 Red is an optical frame made from bio-based polyamide and aluminium. Made in Germany. Suitable for prescription lenses.
Kengo Kuma’s design draws on the Cidori joints of Japanese architecture. The frame is 3D printed using polyamide derived from castor oil. Limited edition of 100 pieces, as specified by VAVA.
Measurements: lens width 50 mm, bridge 25 mm, temple 140 mm. Case and cleaning cloth included.
VAVA approaches eyewear as a contemporary object, with pared-back shapes and a futuristic influence. Its work brings together two fields: the possibilities of technology and the experience of artisans who make frames by hand.
