KameManNen glasses come from the oldest eyewear brand in Japan. The company began in 1917 in Fukui as an electroplating works, Kikujiro Kimura's Kimura Seisakusho; after the war it became an eyewear factory in Sabae. In 1981 it produced the world's first titanium glasses. The name comes from a proverb: the crane lives a thousand years, the tortoise ten thousand.

Glasses built to last

Titanium, slender profiles, worked bridges. Few colours, because they are not painted but plated, layer after layer: silver, light gold, gunmetal grey. Round, oval and hexagonal shapes, with a few models that combine titanium and acetate.

KameManNen used it first, in 1981: it is light, does not corrode and does not cause allergies.

Why so few colours?

They are platings, not paint: they last as long as the frame.

Can prescription lenses be fitted?

Yes, single-vision and progressive, in our in-house workshop. Progressives require measurements taken in person.

Do you ship KameManNen to Dubai, the UAE and Israel?

Yes. Every frame ships from Crema, Italy, by tracked express courier to Dubai, Abu Dhabi and the rest of the United Arab Emirates, to Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Kuwait, and to Israel. Any import duties and local taxes are paid by the recipient on delivery.

Yes.
